La Revista Mexicana de Oftalmología es el órgano de difusión científica de la Sociedad Mexicana de Oftalmología (SMO), siendo los miembros de la SMO al corriente de sus cuotas quienes reciben la versión impresa de la Revista, y siendo la SMO la fuente principal de financiamiento de la revista.

Adicionalmente, la RMO ofrece la suscripción de sus ejemplares impresos, venta de re impresiones y apoyos institucionales. Finalmente, la revista cuenta con espacios publicitarios que son gestionados directamente por la Sociedad Mexicana de Oftalmología.

La RMO apoya firmemente la iniciativa de acceso abierto, no realiza cargos económicos por la publicación de los artículos y todas las obras publicadas por la RMO están bajo los términos de la licencia Creative Commons Attribution License.

The Mexican Journal of Ophthalmology (Revista Mexicana de Oftalmología, RMO) is the official channel of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology (Sociedad Mexicana de Oftalmología, SMO) for the communication of scientific information. Members of the SMO in good standing receive the printed version of the Journal, which is mainly funded by the SMO itself.

Additionally, the Journal obtains funds by offering print subscriptions to non-members, sale of reprints and institutional support. Lastly, the Journal sells advertisement space to companies, which is managed by the SMO, and is not related in any way to editorial decision making.

The Journal firmly supports the Open Access initiative and DOES NOT charge authors for reviewing and/or publishing their manuscripts. All works published in the Journal are under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License.
